Emoonlighter Announces Name Change to Guru.com
Name Change Reflects Emoonlighter's July 2003 Acquisition of Guru.com Assets
Pittsburgh, PA - March 8, 2004 - Emoonlighter, the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent, announced that it has changed its name to Guru.com. The new name completes the merger of Emoonlighter assets with those assets acquired from Silicon Valley-based Guru.com in July 2003.
"By combining Emoonlighter's network of websites under the Guru.com brand, we have created the world's largest network of freelance talent with over 360,000 registered freelancers," commented Inder Guglani, Guru.com's CEO and Co-Founder. "Guru.com is the unmatched destination for employers seeking freelance talent locally, nationally, or globally."
Accompanying the new Guru.com company name is a new website for the online marketplace located at www.guru.com. The new website consolidates Emoonlighter's four specialized sites into one site with streamlined navigation. Traffic on Emoonlighter's four specialized websites is being redirected to the new Guru.com website. In addition, employers and freelance members registered on Emoonlighter have had their account information and transaction history transferred to the Guru.com website. Employers can continue to post their projects and contract work on Guru.com for free. Freelancers seeking work can continue to either register as a free (Basic) member or a subscribing (Guru) member.
