Guru.com Sees Growth in First Quarter 2004
Double-Digit Growth Experienced in Vital Areas

Pittsburgh, PA - April 21, 2004 - Guru.com (www.guru.com), the world's largest online marketplace for freelance talent, announced double-digit growth in two key metrics for the first quarter of 2004 compared to the first quarter of 2003. The total number of projects posted on Guru.com rose 54 percent, while revenue increased 74 percent in the first quarter of 2004.

"While our key metrics showed very healthy gains, the combination of the specialized moonlighter websites into one website under the Guru.com name was the highlight of the quarter," commented Inder Guglani, Guru.com's CEO and Co-Founder. "It was a serious challenge to transition our existing members to the new Guru.com platform. However, we accomplished this transition with minimal disruptions. The new platform sets the stage for the introduction of several value-added features and services that will be introduced over the course of the year."

Also during the first quarter of 2004, the company launched a new Guru VENDOR membership for professionals. The membership was created to meet the needs of those employers interested in targeting their projects to firms, shops, organizations, and teams of independent contractors as opposed to individual independent contractors. With the introduction of the vendor membership, employers now have the option of posting vendor only projects and conducting vendor only searches.
