How do you suggest I get more projects, without paying you or begging others?

I don't want to pay you anything.

I just want to get more projects.

I know things can be difficult, but you're going to have to pay for something, and I suggest membership. Once you get that first project, just make sure you keep your profile paid, and you'll benefit from all the bids you can use and the guru sign by your name. After a while, if you want to go back to being a basic member, it will be okay, because you'll have earnings and feedback to show, though your guru fees will be a lot higher. You can also build your own site relatively inexpensively if you have a nice portfolio to show. Good Luck!

You're either going to have to pay for a service to have the ability to bid on projects or you have to do some legwork and "beg" as you say. If you don't want to spend any money you'll need to invest your personal time looking for clients.

There are several avenues where you can find work, however you'll need to seek them out if you are not willing to pay a membership or put effort into getting clients. Sounds to me like your only option is to ask friends and family for referrals.

And ps. Guru membership is not that expensive. 1 or 2 projects completed will cover the annual membership fee.

I think it was a joke. Anyone on Guru with any serious intention of getting work and building a reputation within the community, wouldn't openly ask Guru or the members of that community how to get work for little or no effort.

some people feel they are entitled to get a 'free ride' ..it doesn't work like that....not here, not in life.

Hi Maarit,

I looked at it too. We obviously have a different view of the situation.
