how to change the project rate from fixed rate to hourly

The client would like to award the job to me as hourly basis for one week trial at per hour basis. The client started to award the project to me however there is no option for him to change the pricing or charges to per hour. He is concern that once the project is awarded to me he might be charge with the amount stated in the project pricing budget which is fixed rate. Question would be, is there a way for him to award the project to me at hourly basis? If so how can it be done.

Hello, Katheren.

The project description and proposal are not binding. If the terms of the agreement have changed, simply outline the deliverables and such in the Project Agreement.

For more information on drafting a Project Agreement, please visit the My Projects > Agreements section of our Help Center (http://www.guru.com/help/freelancer-help-center/my-projects/agreements/).

In short, the Employer can feel free to award you the project as it is. The project description and proposal do not define the project and, therefore, to not bind you to anything. All of the binding stuff will be in the Project Agreement.
