Hi Dave,

You need to contact them in a professional and unobtrusive way. Might I suggest that you hire a marketing guru to put together and execute a strategic, targeted plan of action to get your name out there to those who would be interested in your particular talents? There are many such talented individuals on Guru who could help you out with this.

:)

I suggest filling out the rest of your profile..and getting a Linked In profile, too...start networking...

Hi, Betsy:

I'm fairly internet ignorant so bear with me as I feel my way along. I was going upload my resume, but it appears I should just provide snippets under different headings. Is that correct. I do have a Linked-In profile which is Financial Servies heavy as that's what i have been doing for the past four years. Who would I turn to or where should I go to get some help in positioning myself in the most accurate, yet favorable light?

Thanks for the help.

Dave

If you have voice samples in digital format, it doesn't hurt to start making calls to places that you'd like to work with and sending them your files- be sure to get a name and contact number, not just a general email address. Specialize in something- I used to be in radio broadcasting and always had a demo tape handy. Got me in the door many times!

Hi Dave,

Marketing isn't my area of expertise, so I'm not the best for giving you this type of data. I do know from my exploration on Guru that the marketing and communications section has many freelancers with stellar feedback and work history. With an investment of a little time, you can read through their profiles, samples, etc and see what each offers, and also what they have been paid for various projects in the past. it won't be a complete picture but it will give you a basis from which to approach and ask them questions.
