Why did Guru change the Answers format?

Why did Guru change the answer format? Instead of just displaying questions and answers from employers and freelancers in a straightforward manner, there is now extraneous noise (badges?? really??). It is not intuitive to use.

I couldn't agree more. Sometimes change for the sake of change is...a pain. I'm not sure I get the whole karma and badges deal. I come to Guru for a safe, user-friendly experience. Karma ratings and badges don't really enhance that.
