How can I get a 1199 tax form for a GURU project I have already been paid for?
|
Hi, Jason! Thank you for your response to my query, but, what I'm really asking is how I can get a 1099(?) tax form to register for my 2012 GURU art job payments. I want to have the forms & money taken out as a default for any art jobs I do for over a total of $400. (The legal minimum for having to file for yearly earnings). Presently, there is no record/setting for that for the 2012 work I've so far done. Is there a way I can change that, or is it a thing where the form becomes available to me from GURU at the end of the year? My main point is that I want the taxes to be taken out automatically before I get paid so I don't run into any problems with the IRS down the line. Is there anything that need to change on my GURU account settings to do this? If so, could you please explain how? Thanks! Chuck Frazier- Startoonzart at GURU.

Hello Chuck, Good afternoon. Upon review of your account, I can see that you received project payments in 2009, and again in 2012. I'm assuming that you're looking for the 1099 form for your 2009 payments. If this is the case, you'll be able to download a copy of your 2009 1099 tax form from your My Account page. Upon signing in to this page, look for the section titled 'Payments and Feedback.' Then, click the '1099 Tax Forms' link to view past forms. I hope this helps!

Freelancers usually get IRS 1099 forms; I don't think there is such a thing as a "1199 form".
