ineligible even when meeting all requirements
|
I understand that I am only allowed to bid on projects for which I meet: the skill requirements the member level requirement the geographic requirement But on many projects it appears I meet all of those requirements and yet still am not eligible to bid. I am concerned that if I pay to become a Guru I will still be restricted in some invisible way from bidding on projects. Some projects list "other skills" which are not even listed for me to select in the profile editing tool, which means I am automatically barred from bidding. Please explain why I cannot bid on even a simple project, open to all, no geographic requirements, whose requirements I meet. I've never bid, and I should have 10 bids available with my free membership.

I've seen this a lot as well. For example: Transcription project wants someone with the skill of.... Transcription! I have that skill listed and there are no other requirements, yet some of them say I am not eligible (with no detailed explanation to help me figure out why). But don't worry, if you upgrade to a paid membership, all the projects will open up as they should and there won't be any mysterious projects with invisible restrictions. Hi Starlight! Your Skill Category is Websites & Ecommerce. Transcription projects fall under Admin Support. While you can list transcription as an additional skill in your profile, since it's not contained in your main skill category, you won't likely be eligible for those projects.

I do have an admin profile, but sometimes it gets hidden and I have to show it again.

Hi Jude, Have you fully defined your profile to include your skills? That might seem an odd question to ask, but at present your profile is hidden so there is no way to see what you have created as your skill set. If this isn't in place, then you maybe aren't able to access any projects because Guru doesn't know where you fit in. It's just an idea for you to check. :)
