Highlights:Justine started out in the world of magazines, and worked her way up to becoming editor of a regional technology magazine, California Computer News, at a young age. From there Justine advanced to become editor of Government Technology magazine, a national, award-winning monthly publication. During this time Justine was also an avid freelancer, writing on contract for magazines including CIO, Smart Computing, Logistics Technology News, Converge (education), and Access (education), as well as for corporations such as Microsoft, Deloitte, and Nokia. Justine was also awarded an APEX Award for Magazine and Journal Writing and was selected as one of Folio magazine’s “30 Under 30” for up-and-coming writers and editors.
Looking for new challenges beyond journalism, Justine moved into the marketing/communications, PR and media relations area, working for an education technology company and later for Deloitte. At Deloitte, Justine progressed to become a senior marketing manager, leading marketing communications strategy, planning and execution for the national state government practice. Among many other things, Justine wrote collateral, web copy, by-lined articles, op-eds, podcast scripts, white papers, and many other types of copy in order to promote Deloitte’s image. She also developed brand messaging and advertisements, managed events, and worked closely with former and current governors and other state government leaders.
Work terms:Can work onsite or offsite, with enough notice for onsite.
