I am a published author and professional editor. I have years of experience as a legislative analyst and management consultant, so I can bring an analytical eye and substance to your work.

My freelance articles have been published in major US and international newspapers, including the San Francisco Chronicle, the London Guardian, the Philadelphia Inquirer, and the Utne Reader.

I have drafted and edited statutes and administrative rules and codes for various local and state government entities. I co-wrote a book on the history of construction labor laws. I did all the editing, including the reference editing, for the book.
Work terms:I prefer to receive payment by escrow for first time clients, with 50% released at the beginning of the project and the balance at completion.

I have hourly billing rates, but can also negotiate bulk pricing or "not to exceed" limits. I have twice charged a client less than the "not to exceed" limit when the project took less time than anticipated.

I like to have a Project Agreement, mostly to get both parties on the same page about the product to be delivered, and how to handle rounds of editing, etc. This agreement can be very short and just cover the basics.
