Book Illustrations
While varying in style and complexity (and therefore price), book illustrations seldom rise above $250 per piece (per image). The great exception, of course, is cover illustration. This tends to be far more complex and exacting than any interior illustrations, even in children's books.

Caricatures
As a party service (which, of course, is only available locally in the Central Texas area), I have a standard rate of $85/hr. However, in contract caricatures, there's a lot of variation. Single black & white caricature busts can start as low as $40/ea., whereas large groups of full color caricatures for invitations, marketing & such can go well over $1,000 (though larger groups get discounts per subject).
Caricatures are great for mascots, advertising, gifts, t-shirt graphics, marketing materials, greeting cards, web graphics and more!

Portraits
Portraits are realistic portrayals of a subject. Although I don't offer hand-painted portraits, I do offer prismacolor pencil color portraits or digitally painted portraits.
My specialty, however, lies in Fantasy Portraits. Though still based in a realistic style, the subject is often "prettied up" just a subtle amount, then added to a fantastical imagery. Though beginning as mostly fairy portraits, this has developed into illustrating people as players in their favorite sports team, mermaids, vampires, medieval or renaissance garb, gargoyles, angels and more.
Both portraits and fantasy portraits start well under $100!

Logo Design
Logo design was where my professional career started (at age 12). Since then I've designed hundreds of logos, mascots, mastheads and icons. My standard rate is $200 for most logos, which includes a copyright fee guaranteeing that I cannot resell the image. Usually these projects include other small design projects such as business card layout, letterhead and other simple designs that can be charged as little as $25 a piece.
