Ultrasonic Ranger
This embedded microcontroller product uses an ultrasonic transceiver to measure ranges to an object when the Red pushbutton is pressed below the display. The measured range is then date-time stamped and stored in EEPROM for later download via a USB interfact to a connected PC.

Proposed Proximity Sensor
This is a block diagram of an embedded microcontroller application we have proposed that uses an ultrasonic link over a range of 1-21 feet to control a remote relay. The proposed microcontroller is a PIC 16F690 programmed in PICBasicPro for controlling the transmitter to turn on the ultrasonic transmitter every 1 sec or whatever transmission schedule is required. The ultrasonic receiver detects the transmitted signal and controls an external load by turning on the relay in the receiver circuit. These circuits were designed for low production cost, reliability, long battery life for the transmitter, and small size.

Example of PCB Layout
This is an example of one of the Printed Circuit Board (PCB) designs and layouts we did for a rather complex microcontroller design that included an RF transceiver, Hall Effect sensors, and control of an external valve solenoid. This interconnect density and mixed signals of this design required us to create this layout as a 4-layer PCB. We were able to cherry pick the electronic parts for this design to keep the production cost of the required parts to less than the customer's $20 budget, which was important since this is being used in a consumer electronics product.
