Highlights
|
-Created a token ring driver for Clarkson University TCP, called IBMTOKEN. It allowed the otherwise ethernet-centric software to function on token ring networks.
-Developed a terminal emulator for OS/2, supporting vt100 and tek 4010 graphics, as well as XModem, YModem, ZModem, Kermit, CompuServ Quick B, and SeaLink file transfer protocols.
-Wrote a program called C-Note, a note-taking system for the hearing impaired. Co-wrote an article about it for Educom.
-Participated in a joint study with IBM: Enhance the capabilities of the serial interface module in Yale's Multiprotocol Gateway, and use a Risc System 6000 with 128 port serial cards to build a system that could be used to replace IBM 7171's as 3270 terminal controllers.
-Joint study with IBM: they donated two Risc System 6000 Model 550's to be used for research number crunching. I developed a batch queuing system designed to give researchers a fair system for sharing the resources.
-Joint study with IBM: they donated an SP2 parallel computing system for use by the university's numerically intensive computing group. I was the systems administrator. Eventually, this project evolved into the High Performance Computing VIrtual Lab (HPCVL), a supercomputing facility based in Kingston, ON.
-Worked with a team of programmers to develop the first Canadian computerized polygraph system. The system is being used by Canadian law enforcement, and the CIA, FBI, and U.S. military.
