Work Terms

Attribution/Byline—As with most professional writers, I offer a discount to clients who allow me to publish content under my own name. I do not ghostwrite any printed work. However, pricing may differ depending upon type of credit given (e.g., named as a co-author or listed as researcher/contributor).

Communication –I encourage clients to email or call with all project questions/clarifications, and will respond within 1 business day (CST). I also provide updates on longer projects on a regular basis. At a bare minimum, I require an initial phone consultation with new clients.

Delivery Schedule—Outlined in project agreement prior to initial payment.

Payment—On large projects, I generally require 40% to begin, 30% upon completion of first major milestone, and 30% upon submission of final work product.

Revisions—Changes are a normal part of any writing project, but what is considered “included in the price” can differ from one writer to the next. I consider a revision to be any alteration of up to 10% of content. However, a revision is not an update or addition of new content.

Rewrite—In the unlikely event that you require an extensive revision (typically over 25% of submitted content), this will incur a surcharge. You can avoid rewrites by providing clear, accurate instructions at the outset and throughout the project. However, I help clients avoid potential pitfalls by knowing the right questions to ask.
