My primary duties have been marketing strategy, product development, copywriting, sales support, event planning, media relations, research and analysis, competitive and counterintelligence, analyst relations, vendor management, corporate communications, brand awareness, newsletter writing/editing, public relations, and presentation creation/editing.
Worked for a company that exhibits at over 80 meetings and trade shows per year. Primary duties included directing all show-related activities, planning major events, strategizing on designs and layout, etc. Ivoclar Vivadent’s annual trade show and meeting budget exceeds $5 million.
For another company, managed one full-time and two part-time staff members. Responsible for $350,000 budget. Duties included, but were not limited to: writing and implementing marketing plans, writing case studies/white papers/presentations/articles, designing and implementing e-mail campaigns, and approving copy and design for all materials.
Accomplishments:
Restored order to a chaotic situation in marketing. Wrote division-wide marketing plans from scratch for implementation in 2006. Also did product launch and marketing plans for two new products, to be introduced in the first and second quarters of 2006. Implemented a marketing plan for the appraisal software division of the company which increased sales in third quarter 2005 by 30% over the same period in 2004.
Reviewed actual costs year-to-date versus budget and re-allocated funds to increase marketing ROI by over 20%. Changed vendors to improve quality and lower price of printed materials, promotional items, etc.
Additionally, worked with Vice President of Solutions Development at a company to craft new services and present them to upper management for approval, then assisted with their rollout.
Designed marketing plans for different divisions of the company. Produced communications for both internal and external audiences.
Planned and implemented approximately 30 trade show appearances annually, brought all trade show planning back into marketing department control, saving approximately $200,000 on trade show expenses and ensuring that deadlines are consistently met.
Accomplishments:
Asked to serve on two executive task forces created to make CTG a more sales-focused culture. Started several new services, including a sales-focused monthly newsletter and a process for submitting interviewees to journalists which quadrupled the number of interviews that CTG was getting.
