An award-winning writer, Johanna Brown has diverse marketing communications experience on both the agency and client side of the business. She has successfully managed the copywriting, public relations, and communications efforts for clients across several industries, including education, non-profit, financial services, and film & entertainment.
Prior to branching out on her own, Johanna was the Assistant Director of Communications for The Art Institute of Atlanta. In that role she managed the internal and external communications for the college, including initiating the re-design of the employee e-newsletter which increased staff engagement by 33%.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Johanna studied linguistics, writing, and marketing in Canada, Puerto Rico, England, Germany, and Jamaica. She is the winner of the New Jersey Governor’s Art Award and the New Jersey Young Playwrights Contest.
A member of the Freelance Forum, Media Bistro, and the National Association of Professional Women, Johanna earned a bachelor’s degree in international management form McGill University (Montreal, Quebec) and a master’s degree in integrated marketing communications from Florida International University (Miami, Florida).
