I am an award-winning writer and editor with more than 25 years of experience in journalism and corporate communications. In addition to more than 200 articles published in magazines and newspapers, I've ghostwritten six books, edited many others, and have extensive experience in writing and editing Web content, speeches, news releases, reports, proposals, brochures and other collateral materials, and a full range of internal and external business publications.
Before launching my own full-time business in 2006, I served as Corporate Communications Director for Norton Healthcare, a Louisville-based nonprofit organization with multiple hospitals, urgent care centers, and physician practices. Other previous jobs include serving as Speechwriter and Press Officer for the Governor of Kentucky, Director of Marketing, Communications and Government Relations for Louisville's 600-bus mass transit system, Senior Consultant for New West Public Relations Agency, and an independent contractor specializing in writing, editing, public relations and marketing.
I hold a double Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and English from the University of Louisville, and I am the recipient of more than a dozen awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Public Relations Society of America, the International Association of Business Communicators, and other organizations.
