Highlights
|
With over 30 years in education, I have taught all grades from 6th to 12th, with an emphasis on mathematics. My experience in education has afforded me many opportunities to create printed media to assist students in their learning, from tutorials to assessments of students' abilities.
Outside of education, I have created newsletters, brochures, directories and other print media for churches. From 1995 to 1998, I was in charge of creating the monthly newsletter for Living Word Church, as well as all of their brochures and announcements for special meetings.
In 1996 I educated all the staff of the Dana Manufacturing plant in Bristol, VA, in the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and then helped to migrate their documentation from DOS based applications to the Office applications, ensuring the new documentation met their QS9000 standards. I succeeded in training 40 staff members on all three Office products in six weeks, and finished their documentation in another four weeks. I also created a macro-driven printable form for overtime pay.
I have participated in the National Novel Writing Month challenge for the last four years, completing four novels of at least 50,000 words each. I also edited a 200-page book for a friend, that has been published. I currently have two blogs, one of which is a devotional blog, and the other is more focused on my journey as a writer.

Work Terms

I prefer to work for employers that use the SafePay Escrow service, especially when it is the first contract between me and the employer.
I prefer payment via check, e-check, or wire transfer.
I prefer to communicate through email first, but I realize that some contracts will require phone conversations. I can also communicate through Skype, after initial contact through email has been made.
I am usually available in the afternoons, but can also be available in the evenings. If other arrangements need to be made, I am flexible.
