Exterior to Guru.com, AetherMachines uses purchase order numbers and expects net 30 for products and services. The timeliness for payment is of course negotiable for specific circumstances and projects.
Because of the nature of AetherMachines' clients and internal development projects, a great deal of fluidity and flexibility exists to be responsive to customer requests, changes, and updates. We prefer e-mail over voice communications for discussing project status and interim results. Voice communications are usually preferred at junctures where major decisions are to be made or specific alternatives evaluated or chosen. Frequency of communication is negotiable, under the realization a fixed, repetitive sampling of any creative process may be somewhat burdensome.
We prefer customers to be very well informed as to the content of our technical analyses, designs, and creative 'analysis-synthesis' approach, but we expect prospective customers to recognize that transfer of such detailed knowledge will be partially limited during the bidding phases of a project. Details of analyses, designs, and solutions are provided at the end of the project in an overall report or summary, as well as in the summation of interim communications after a project has been awarded.
When working through Guru.com, we expect the terms of Guru as the minimum set of guidelines (in particular, when using Guru, all payments must be done through Guru, and the like).
