Work earned through Guru.com is second priority to current business partners and will be completed in mid afternoons, evenings, and weekends. I keep deadlines but same day results are not to be expected.
I usually work out a cost per feature instead of cost for entire project. That way I you can evaluate if you wish to pursue additional avenues. If computational time will be significant, I usually try to work out that cost beforehand as well.
Communication is done by email as first contact. Cell phone communication with set times is what I prefer after the bid as been accepted.
Projects requiring professional engineer license or legal issues will be work complete but with the a note about the required signatures. I can work with the hiring to find someone who can do this or the hirer can transfer the work to the required person. All projects that breach ethical boundaries will be stopped and reevaluated.
