Experience ORGANIZATION: BKT Mold Design (Self employed) Job Title: Owner, Design Engineer Dates: Nov. 89 to present Responsibilities: All administrative duties; Plastic injection mold design; Product design; Product design consultation. Accomplishments: Designed more than 80 plastic injection molds (43 for one client); Consultation and design for several products. Mold designs and product design was accomplished with CAD 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks) from which 2D drawings were made. ORGANIZATION: The best known manufacturer of B-B guns and air guns Job Title: Product Designer; Tool Designer Dates: Aug. 70 to July 96 (retired) Responsibilities: Product research and design; Tool design (mostly plastic injection molds). Accomplishments: Many good economical part designs; a few innovative plastic injection mold designs; a cost saving suggestion for a product that the company produced for another company that saved about $300,000.00 over about three years. ORGANIZATION: (A NASA Engineering Design Contractor), NASA 1, Webster, TX (Houston) Job Title: Designer Dates: June 65 to Aug. 70 Responsibilities: Design & drafting in support of astronaut training equipment and the NASA earth resources aircraft. Accomplishments: Participated in the design of the boiler plate mock-up of the Apollo command module; the design of space suit testing equipment, design for modification of equipment changes for the NASA earth resources aircraft. Education INSITUTION: Calico Rock High School, Calico Rock, Arkansas High school diploma, 1954 INSITUTION: The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, Arkansas About 40 hours, (Engineering) 1958 & 1959 I tested for and became a Certified Manufacturing Technician in the SME certification program. I took college level, in company training, courses in mechanics and strength of materials while working for a NASA contractor at the Johnson Manned Space-craft Center (1965 to 1970). The courses were taught by a University of Houston professor and I was at the top of the class in both courses. Skills • I am very proficient in CAD 3D solid modeling (SolidWorks & Cad Key) and CAD 2D detail and design. • I have written CAD Macros to calculate the stress, load and deflection for a tapered beam and CAD Macros to calculate data for coil springs. • I am equally comfortable with very small or very large component designs. • I can change the direction of a design with ease (I do not get locked into a line of thought). • I had two semesters of surveying at The University of Arkansas. I have worked on a surveying crew and would like to work on one yet again.

Additional Skills:	Primary skill: The ability to visualize a mechanical design problem in three dimensions and then to use one of the very best 3D solid modeling design software programs to achive the best solution for the problem. A young engineering associate once asked me "How do you find so many solutions for the same problem"? The answer is that I never get locked into one solution. I always try to look at several ways to tackle a problem and then determine what is the most simple solution that will satisfy every requirement of the broblem.
