Simulation Analysis Skills: Simulation plays a vital roll in developing any new embedded system as testing with real parts is frequently extremely costly. Simulation allows the developer to get real close prior actual testing. It also allows for variation and robustness analysis.

> CarSim
> VC++
> Excel (quasi-static analysis)
> Working Model
CAD/CAM: I can take your ideas, draw them, engineer the design for strength and lightness (FEA) and work with prototype shops to create your first working systems
> SolidWorks
> VX CAD/CAM
> Rhino3d
> COSMOS Professional (Structural Finite Element and Thermal Analysis)
Misc.
> High Performance Limit Handling Driving Skills (open wheel racing) (+10 years of vehicle limit handling testing)

Philosophy: Energy Up-Front saves Energy following.
--- Design -> Simulate -> Analysis -> Manufacture ---
I strongly believe that a robustly designed, simulated and analyzed system makes for a safer product. The result of Energy Up-Front means eased manufacture (fewer prototypes) and higher customer satisfaction (fewer failures, returns and higher performance). Experience shows that this Energy Up-Front is returned well over by the Money Saved in the Manufacturing and Money Gained in Sales.
I have been creating safety critical embedded automotive control systems for over 10 years. From sensors to actuators, and the processors in-between, I have intimate working knowledge of many electro mechanical systems. I understand how to create, workable, marketable, solutions which make money, are safe and robust. I have 5 years of experience in automotive accident reconstruction (working product liability defense), my mind is seldom far from protection from liability issues.
I am a Systems Engineer First, and my strength is in understanding the whole picture; the strength and weakness of the whole supported by the components. I believe systems are created around specifications not ad-hoc whim. Sophisticated systems demand proper architecture. While my expertise is systems design, I am equally at home working the nuts and bolts of a solution at the component level.
I am well versed in both C-code and in object oriented controls modeling software such as Matlab Simulink or Matrix X. Simulation is the key to accurate timely development of control systems. Plotting the outputs signals of systems in an understandable form is a key to making good decisions.
I am also very proficient in several CAD drawing packages. I strongly prefer SolidWorks as its parametric model creation and ease of collaboration ease design modification and testing. I use Finite Element Analysis (COSMOS PRO) on all of my mechanical designs to verify both component and system (assembly) performance. It is a major key in creating parts and systems that function safely. The analysis is then stored with the project for liability coverage (should the need ever materialize).
I am a Seasoned Professional, Let Me Help Your Team Exceed. |
