Good design or illustration requires clear communication between client and designer. Developing a comfortable working relationship is key to being able to achieve those results. All projects, large or small are treated to the same complete workflow process. No project is finished until the client is satisfied.

Work Terms

I work from home with my freelance design business. I posted a minimum hourly rate, but I prefer to work on projects with a settled project price. This allows you to know exactly what you will paying for the work from the beginning of the project. I like to have several contacts before a project begins, to clarify the goal, develop a timeline for deliverables and provide a payment schedule so everyone is comfortable with the workflow process before starting.
If you have any questions about the working process, this is time to be sure we are all on the same page. I am happy at any time to stop and answer questions along the way, and may be in contact during the project for clarification on some aspect. On larger projects I like to schedule regular times to discuss progress and answer questions.
I always include one round of revisions in the project quote, and negotiate a rate for change orders outside the scope of the project. I do not consider the work finished until the client is satisfied.
