I oversee operation of two highly consumer-driven divisions within the company I currently work for: a motorcycle training school and the motorcycle rental department. I design brochures, gift certificates, signage and flyers for both departments, often using In-Design or MS Publisher. I write and format the monthly email newsletter that is distributed to thousands of customers. As program manager of these divisions, I work closely with upper management and accounting to develop budgets, and allocate the funds appropriately. I often compose proposals for marketing and report monthly revenue figures to management. I write numerous memos to keep ten instructors, site coordinators and management aware of the progression of our class. I coordinate with customers to plan motorcycle excursions that fit within rental timelines and fulfill the renters sightseeing needs. I serve as liason between prospective motorcycle students, the motorcycle dealership, instructors and state officials. While my current position does not necessarily optimize my degree in journalism/professional writing, it has allowed me to access more creative, design-based areas of writing.
