Print & Web Portofolio
Description:
This my Print/Web Portfolio on my professional site (www.getsharpe.com). Here you'll find nine examples of copywriting done for various clients, usually working with an ad agency. Many times I not only wrote the copy but came up with the idea for the ad or even the entire campaign. The clients range from small businesses to major corporations such as Frito-Lay. Blog/Newsletter Portfolio
Description:
For three years I wrote five monthly columns (450-800 words each) for Blog4Truckers, the online newsletter of Advance Business Capital, a company that provides financing for long haul trucking operations. ABC's instructions were simple: "Keep it relevant and interesting." I produced 150 columns that were serious, informative and fun to read.
No, I’m not a trucker, but I can write about anything. I can write your newsletter or blog too. This is a “best of” selection. Take a look.

Video/Radio Portfolio
Description:
Instead of the usual clip reel, I decided to make my radio/television/video work more fun to do and watch, so I edited representative clips into this private eye spoof, "Jake Ratchett, Short Detective," which I did with a pair of friends. This was shot in 2005, so it doesn't include my more recent work. It may or may not be the funniest clip reel you’ve ever seen. I guarantee it’s the weirdest.

"My Factor Is ABC"
Description:
Advance Business Capital provides a form of short-term financing called "factoring" to long-haul truckers. Factoring is a very old b2b form of cash advance (going back to the days of camel caravans), but most people have never heard of it. That often includes trucking owner-operators who are new to the business world. My task was to explain factoring in a way that was avoided the financial jargon that makes ordinary people uncomfortable.
These four videos, each about two minutes, were used in a email campaign to prospects. We hired actors who looked and talked like regular people to deliver the message. For many truckers, factoring can mean the difference between staying in business or going under. I think I succeeded in writing a complex message in a clear, dramatic way. Watch these and judge for yourself.
