Description:
This is an example of my student work. The project was to create an image in photoshop based on a song or poem. I chose the poem "Lady Lazarus" by Sylvia Plath. I was really focusing on the last few lines of the poem which read, "Out of the ash, I rise with my red hair, and eat men like air." I really wanted to have the effect of rising out of a flame in the image and I wanted it to feel more serene, than frightening or shocking.

Description:
This is an example of student work. The project was to choose and then research a topic and then to create a book jacket based on that topic. The class was to create their own titles for the books and to produce or render their own images. I chose the topic of depression and directed the target audience toward women between the ages 35-50 struggling with depression. I chose the word "broken" as the title. The word seems to encompass the whole feeling of depression. I chose a very strong and heavy font because I wanted the title to feel heavy and burdened, which are also feeling associated with depression. The illustration of the broken mask is my own design.

Description:
The project was to create a logo and a brand for a company, and then to create a label design for a consumable product. This is one of the designs. The company was "Pompous Pets" It's a fictional company that I created for young, affluent, pet owners. I wanted the company to have a more rock n' roll feel. The product itself is more aimed toward young women. This would be more of a last minute checkout item.

Description:
This is the same project as the one listed above with the same logo but a different target and product. This product is aimed for the cat owner. The image of the cat is actually a painting of mine, that was then edited in photoshop for the half-tone effect. The goal of the product was to capture the arrogance and prowess that cats can have. Again, the general market of the brand is the same as the above, affluent, young, pet owners.
