Non-fiction: I've been a news and features writer for eight years. During two of those years, I was also on the editing desk.

After writing and editing for daily newspapers, I'm used to generating copy quickly and accurately.
I used an outdated system in the office (called Coyote), which had bizarre commands to do anything even slightly complicated. Thus, I worked there for a year before learning that there was a spell check. My editors never realized I wasn't using the program's spell check because my copy was always so clean.
I've also developed a clear, easy-to-understand style. Often, my stories were about municipal budgets and complicated laws, but I always explained them so that the lay person could understand them. |

Work Terms
|
I prefer to discuss projects via e-mail, providing a short sample, so that I know exactly what the contractor wants.
After everything is agreed upon, I use PayPal for billing purposes.
I prefer 25% to go into an escrow account before starting the project.
I limit the number of rewrites (2) because I've been taken advantage of in the past.
I'm currently a stay-at-home dad so I've got some time every night to work on projects. Deadlines are paramount.
