Air Quality Sciences, Inc.
Primary hardware design and software engineer for development of a Custom Environmental Control and Data Acquisition System. This system was designed for separate control and monitoring of a bank of five environmental chambers. The system was designed to create prescribed environmental conditions, (pressure, temperature, humidity and air flow), within the above chambers and hold these conditions within +-2% tolerance. The chambers are used to run test on certain media or equipment that is placed within the chambers to show how environmental conditions affect the test material over predetermined amounts of exposure to these conditions. The controlling hardware is based around Opto22 digital and analog control devices and interfaced to a Pentium based controller. The software is PC based and written in a VB 6.0 object oriented environment. The custom software controls all of the functions of the system via an RS232/422 port. The software gathers and monitors the information coming from the chambers in real-time and stores the operation and conditions in a central relational database for historical trending. The information captured can also be sent over the Intranet or Internet via XML to another package for analysis. The software also includes a reporting facility that generates custom reports based on time studies of the environmental conditions and the off gassing of the media or piece of equipment under study. The reports may be printed in preformatted type or exported to Microsoft Word or Excel in either Text or HTML format.
Project Manager- Team of 3 individuals
Lead Programmer- Visual Basic 6.0- command and control environment, (ADO, SQL, XML) Microsoft Access 2000 database, reporting generated by the Visual Basic 6.0 Data Environment
Hardware – Opto22 B1 & B2 brain boards, Analog input/output modules digital input and output modules, Analog controlled Ball valves, Brooks instrument Mass air flow controllers, digital flow meters and dampening solenoids.

Johnson Controls/ Encore, Inc.
Software Engineer for the development of a GUI interface and communication package. Using Visual Basic 6.0, a GUI interface and high level communication package was developed to interface with an existing 68HC16 micro controller. The micro controller was developed in C++, to control the operation of HVAC in large industrial environments. The GUI environment was designed to allow for 3-D graphing of the information captured from the micro controller, report generating and to facilitate precise communication with the Access 2000 database. This database is tapped through VB by use of dynamic SQL calls to extract needed information about a particular controller and or update specific information in the database. The SQL software has to be dynamic as to facilitate multiple interfaces with various versions of hardware and or system configurations. The graphing was carried out by use of a third party graphing package, by TeeMach, interface into VB and reporting is carried out through use of the VB report-generating engine. The communication portion of the software allows for many types of communication, based on the type of controller that is being interfaced. The main type of communication is a proprietary protocol developed by Johnson Controls and the other communications are carried out via RS-232, 488, 422, Modem, LAN and WAN environments.
Lead Programmer- Visual Basic 6.0-environment, (ADO, DAO & SQL) Microsoft Access 2000 database, Graphing - TeeChart Pro and reporting – VB Report Generating Environment
(ACS)
Primary design and software engineer for development of an Ozone Monitoring and Control Software product. This product was designed for the air quality and emission monitoring industry that monitors Ozone or O3. This product is PC based and written in a VB 6.0 object oriented environment. The custom software controls all of the functions of an (Thermo Environmental Instruments) O3 analyzer via an RS232 port. The software gathers and monitors the information coming from the O3 in real-time and displays the data in a graphical format to the user. This information is also recorded in a central relational database for
Historical reporting and trending for O3 studies and management control. The software also includes a reporting facility that generates standard O3 reports based on time studies of an environment or piece of equipment. These reports display particulars such as Ozone Depletion, Ozone Buildup, Ozone Decay, and other related O3 information. Reports may be printed in preformatted type or exported to Microsoft Word or Excel in either Text or HTML format.

Primary design engineer, software engineer, and project manager of a design and implementation team for an Environmental Chamber Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System. This system was designed for an indoor air quality firm that provides product emissions testing using environmental chamber technology. This state of the art system uses PC based object oriented software and a custom built electronic controller to capture, in real time, interior and exterior environmental conditions of pressure, air temperature, relative humidity, and airflow. As the control software is capturing all of this information it is si
