Japanese Fantasy Character

Description:
This was a visual development project for a character in a psuedo-Japanese fantasy story. A great deal of change was made after the illustration was originally completed. The character was re-developed, and the concept art had to be reworked. The staff he previously carried became the traditional Japanese weapon ("man-catcher"), and the face went from being a white mask to being painted. Also, the heavy graphite required a great deal of time be spent lifting the already-drawn grphite out of very, very dark ares to make the corrections.
