Having worked as a paralegal before attending law school, I developed strong organizational skills especially tailored to the legal profession. While an attorney for the past 19 years, I have honed my legal research, writing and litigation support skills. Unlike most attorneys, I love researching challenging issues and then putting that information into written form, either in an argumentative motion or brief or in an objection memorandum.
Do you have an appellate brief that needs to be research and written within stringent time constraints? I can research and write your brief persuasively and cost effectively.
Perhaps you have a summary judgment hearing that could make or break your case? I can research and prepare a legal memorandum that succinctly and persuasively argues the law in your client's favor.
For select projects such as trial preparation, review/compilation of discovery documents, and the like, I am willing to work on site.

English is my native language. (It seems strange to have to specify that fact, but I am aware that many freelancers are from other nations.) I have been a lawyer in good standing with the Florida Bar since 1992. Although I have worked as a trial attorney, most of my career has been in as a research and litigation support attorney. I have strong skills at research, analysis, writing, and organization. Moreover, I work quickly, efficiently, and accurately to complete projects on time and within budget constraints. I have strong abilities in issue identification and attention to detail. |

Work Terms
|
Communication: I prefer employers communicate with me via email up to twice weekly or by telephone as needed when the scope of the communication does not lend itself to email.
General Availability: I am currently working an on-site part-time assignment with a local law firm. Consequently, my availability for other projects is limited to 14 or 15 days per month.
Payment Terms: I prefer payment be transacted through Guru's SafePay Escrow system.
Code of Professional Responsibility: As a member of the Florida Bar, my conduct is controlled by the Florida Rules of Professional Responsibility. By the same token, I expect employers to conduct themselves by the rules of professional conduct applicable in the state in which they practice and conduct business.
Licensure: As noted above, I am licensed to practice law in the state of Florida. While I can provide freelance work for lawyers and law firms in other states, I cannot accept projects from private individuals with legal issues in states other than Florida.
