I earned my Industrial Design bachelors of science from Western Michigan University College of Engineering in the spring of 2008. The courses not only included product design and market research, but also material science, plastic processes, quality control, ergonomics and furniture design and woodworking. These courses have proven invaluable to my design studies. Being able to show how a product is manufactured and of what materials adds great value to a design project or presentation. While studying at Western Michigan University our class was able to work on multiple projects with major local companies such as Stryker Medical and Haworth office systems. These experiences gave me design and especially presentation skills not easily taught in a classroom. This education has enabled me to work as an Industrial Designer for the past year. I gained important experience working with engineering, manufacturing processes and multiple types of suppliers, all helping me build a strong foundation in the design process. Handheld surgical devices, medical carts and storage solutions were some of the projects I was fortunate enough to work on. I believe these experiences along with my education and background will be very beneficial to my capacity to work in the Industrial Design field, as well as any other future endeavors I may undertake.

Work Terms

I believe working in direct communication witha client is vital. This communication, weather through phone conferences or via email, should serve to create a true understanding of what is expected of the designer, myself, as well as what the design intent is.
While most of my work will be done as a freelance from my own office, I will be available via phone or email weekdays, regardless of weather or not I'm working on your project. My commitment to being available to the client is an attribute I have always strived for.

I will keep a detailed log of what I spent my time on during your project, should there be any question as to how my time was spent. This may also include research and market benchmarking, along with sketching and 3D modeling time. Any time spent improving my skill set, or researching something to better my own abilities will never be included into your billing.
Payment can be made via Paypal or other form, depending on what works best for you.
A deadline can be made by the client. If not provided, I will create a detailed timeline for myself to follow, to ensure timely delivery of final work.
