Highlights

I was classically trained as an illustrator at Columbia University and the School of Visual Arts, and have a wide range of design and printing experience. I have been a freelance cartoonist since 1995, for clients from Marvel and DC Comics to Vanguard multimedia. I have produced graphic novels, coloring books, and comic strips, in many cases from concept to delivery of printed pieces. Since 1999 I have also been involved in print and web design, and have an intimate knowledge of every aspect of modern spot and four color printing. I design logos, ads, direct mail pieces, labels, brochures, posters, invitation and event packages, non-profit organization appeals, and posters, displays and some packaging. I currently do regular design work for financial companies, consultants, real-estate agents, an animal shelter, and a large number of small businesses.

Software Skills:	I am quite skilled in the adobe suite of products, including photoshop, illustrator, and InDesign. I am also an expert Quark user, Flash animator and use Microsoft's Office, Excel, Publisher, and Powerpoint daily. I am familiar with a wide range of other programs as well, and have no doubt of my ability to pick up any new program as needed. This wide range of skills also enables me to recommend programs to clients looking to complete partial projects or to upkeep finished projects themselves. Just ask.

Work Terms

-Clients must be able to communicate by email in addition to phone or meetings. Often, email is the quickest, most concise, and most reliable way to communicate feedback and project instructions. Additionally, these articles of correspondence become a record so nothing is misunderstood.
-For Guru clients, I prefer one third in advance, one third at a significant milestone, and the final third upon completion. For smaller projects, I may ask for half up front, and half on completion.
-No rights transfer until final payment has been made. That being said, I seldom have a problem with transferring all rights to the finished work.
-All work, even traditionally illustrated pieces, will be transferred via digital medium. I retain ownership of all originals, sketches, and draft files unless these are purchased by separate contract.
-I have a newborn in my home (next door to the office). Please respect this by calling before 9PM. For late night communication, I am very responsive to email, voice mail, or text messages.
