Description:
Task: Work with multiple departments to create a quarterly newsletter that will be distributed to store, distribution center and corporate associates. Include strategic initiatives that will educate associates on company strategies and benefits from implementation.
Result: I was involved in nearly every stage of the newsletter’s development, from content collection to distribution. The major focus was on layout, including creating and placing images. Layout duties included creating an updated template for every issue reflecting the season and current marketing campaign.
This is the only Kohl’s communication that has the potential to reach every associate. Collaborated with multiple departments (including Marketing, Public Relations, Credit, Community Relations, and Human Resources) to obtain both textual and graphical content that educated and recognized associates. This newsletter is often used by store managers during store meetings to introduce and reinforce company values while recognizing valued associates.
Though Marketing normally has complete control of both the front and back covers, my designs were used for both the fourth quarter 2006 front cover and second quarter 2007 back cover.

Description:
Task: Create product-specific marketing materials to send to retail and wholesale customers during each call campaign, including national bankers’ associations and credit union leagues.
Result: Designed advertisements, sendalongs, benefits sheets and
order forms for each call campaign. Wrote timely press releases and created custom advertising for wholesale clients. Created templates for future benefits sheets and order forms to follow, creating a consistency within the company and department. Collaborated with the sales and communications teams to ensure correct pricing and product focus.
Created a Web site for bankers’ associations and prospect customers to
obtain digital copies of marketing materials and graphics, helping to
distribute the materials to a wider audience. Developed and implemented a syndicated feed of call campaign updates for customers to implement on their Web site. Information is updated periodically to ensure the correct and most pertinent information is always shown on their Web site.

Kohl's Merchandise Standards

Description:
Task: Update and redesign the merchandise presentation standards manual that describes how to merchandise a store through photos, basic installation and thorough placement, dressing and signing instructions.
Result: Created a template common to all departments that is both easy to read and navigate, using color coding and large headers. Worked with multiple levels of management across several departments to acquire photographic and textual examples to be used in the manual.
Goal of this redesign was to focus on including as many photographs as
possible (as opposed to textual descriptions). Manual was sent to stores and was used to train all store associates on how to properly place and display merchandise to ensure consistent presentation and common customer experiences across all stores.
