Clients go to Guru for a bargain since the open market rate of illustration is higher on the outside. Potential Guru clients think that they probably won't be able to afford me. Not true. My motto is I'm reasonable in price and personality. Just call me (718-834-6276) and we can negotiate keeping in mind your budgetary constraints. I don't put an initial numerical cost on bids until I find out from the potential client, the details of the job. I do as good a job if I'm making $10 or $50 an hour. Very simple really. We negotiate a fee both parties will find reasonable. BY phone would be best so we can get acquainted. Communication is just as crucial as art skills. Especially if we are working on a big project such as a Children's book. You can have your "work for hire" contract signed by me. I get half payment to begin sketches. All Revisions included in fee. You approve the sketch. Then I proceed to finished art. I email the full color finished art in jpegs for your approval. Art is approved. Remaining balance is paid. Disk with finished art is sent. This has worked wonderfully for me as well as my GURU employers. Don't believe me? Check on my Guru employer ratings. 5 stars and they give me repeat business.
