Current Work: I currently primarily manage and support two commands at NASJAX. I manage 21 servers for the NMCI project at NASJAX: Twelve servers at NASJAX-OMN (NASJAX), 3 Servers for NASJAX Facilities, and 6 Servers for NASJAX Public Works Center (PWC). These servers are NT40 and W2000 Server Operating Systems. The Commands servers cover 70+ buildings, which I also help provide help desk support through a Remedy Help Desk Software application where I get ticket assignments, resolve and document help desk tickets for issues. I use active directory extensively to resolve and communicate with end user. Some of the highlights of the support are listed here:
• Helped coordinate and manage IAVA upgrades for over 700 workstations at the NASJAX Navy Base.
• Helped with orientations and migrating user files during “rollout” of the new computer systems.
• Legacy system support and management.
• Work with Tier 2 and 3 to resolve complex software loads and registry edit hacks to resolve enterprise issues.
• Managed Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5. and helped maintain antivirus updates and Microsoft critical updates for the 21 servers and 750 workstations.
• Managed Veritas Backup Exec for my servers and DAT tape backup juke box (automatic tape loader).
• Provided support for multiple Domains on the “As Is” environment prior to the installation of the new “To Be” network infrastructure.
• Rebuilt crashed NT 40, Windows 2000 or Windows XP systems as necessary.
• Responsible for creation of new accounts and email accounts for the original networks.
• Server UAF account password reset and account management
Back Office software: Active directory and administrative utilities, Radia, Remedy, SQL script print roles, Citrix and Exchange 5.5, Veritas 8.6 Backup Utility and HP Suretape Juke box management.
Remote software experience: Update Expert (300 systems), LanGuard (100 systems), MS Netsession (As necessary, multiple users), RAS Server management, Mobile Automation(300 users, as necessary). Radia – enterprise software load software.
Imaging Experience: Norton Ghost Images, and, NMCI remote network image install procedures.
