Early Stages of Plasma Design
Extended Glow.jpg
Description:
Early development of a atomic oxygen/ ultra-violet radiation ground based device test setup for predicting life expectancy of materials on orbit. Notice that the plasma extends well beyond the electrode region. Modeling of the reactor performance was accomplished and correlated with with experiments.
These reactors have a broad scope of commercial processing applications such as organic waste, paint removal, precision cleaing, and feedstock conversion to thermal energy

Name:
IR Filters for BB Rad Exposure
Synergy BB Radiance Master with Color Plot.xls
Description:
This tool is to allow for the design of ideal blackbody radiation at a desired test surface using filters. The use of filters save many hours of test time by avoiding the need to ramp a blackbody source over a test temperature range, and the filters are desiged to improve uniformity as well as produce radiation at the test surface that is equivalent to a highly ideal blackbody source. Also the use of multiple blackbodies with proper filters canbe used to produce radiation that is equivalent to a ideal blackbody that is at a higher temperature that any of the source blackbodies. This extends test performance range.
