Selected Projects: Embedded Power Metering and Control Using custom wireless nodes which utilize a 802.15.4 Radio and custom protocol stack, featuring integrated battery charging and power management as well as simple UART interface and communication protocol, the Embedded Power Control and Monitoring devices combines AC power metering and control functionality and wireless communication into a single device. The system, made up of many of these devices, communicate via an ad‐hoc wireless sensor network an allow for wireless power control and metering.
JD PowerCheck A standalone power measuring system including sensor drivers, signal conditioning (automatic programmable gain and offset via digital potentiometers and instrumentation amplifiers). The system simultaneously drove two fluxgate sensors and automatically conditioned the output based on user‐programmable parameters. The output was then digitized, formatted and reported back to the user through USB into a custom‐designed interface compatible with MATLAB.

Work Terms

I am a full time master's student at a top 20 engineering school. As such, I can only guarantee about 20 hours per week to your project during the school term. This may sound troublesome, but I can guarantee that you will receive more value in the 20 hours per week that I can offer than you will find almost anywhere else.
I am available during business hours via email, and during evenings via telephone.
Typically, I provide detailed updates via email weekly (over the weekend).
I require no up front payment, but we need to set up a stage gate schedule where we set up milestones and payments, the first no longer than after 20% of the work is complete.
If there is any cost associated with setup (I have most required hardware test tools), that will have to either be supplied or paid for by the employer.
I require use of SafePay and will not work on site.
