| Additional Skills: |
• Using various flavors of assembly language (Intel, AT&T, H8) along with C language I develop chipset code, firmware (for a USB and SCSI device) and kernel level device drivers (to include file system drivers) which operate on multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems.
• Reverse Engineer system level crashes and systems level and kernel level operations of multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Windows File System drivers, using SoftIce and other debugging / reverse engineering methods, and then apply the findings to improving our daily applications and device driver operations along with developing various systems level resolutions in either C or Win32-bit Assembly.
• Reverse Engineer various application operations and procedures and then apply the new found understanding to develop automated tools (such as compilers) and application modifications that are targeted to assist in the resolution of issues revolving around the utilization of our products.
• In a cross platform environment (Linux, P95 VLSI and various Microsoft Windows Operating Systems) I utilized my advanced understanding of computer architecture and Microsoft based operating systems to develop a kernel level cross debugger, a Microsoft Windows operating system crash dump (BSOD) process emulator and other systems level debugging tools.
• Debugged kernel and system level issues from the x86 Assembly language level along with debugging to root-cause various Microsoft Windows embedded operating system issues running on Transmeta processors.
• Developed and presented Windows system level internals and advanced debugging classes to other groups within the company.
• Performed the duties of a Project Manager, managing a small team of five people from various groups, for the Windows XP Embedded platform version of one of Transmeta's new processors.
• Interfaced with Systems Engineering, VLSI, BIOS and software groups to support and debug customer feature requests, customer reported issues and all technical issues related to the bring-up and debugging of new silicon, BIOS’s and form factors
• Developed embedded software, firmware code, advanced systems level applications, BIOS patch code and devices drivers for multiple Microsoft Windows operating systems using Assembly and C language.
• Reverse engineered computer BIOS's, CPU initialization code, flash ROM loaders and disk-partitioning programs and then applied the new found knowledge to the development of BIOS patch code, flash loaders, disk-partitioning programs, and other such items that were geared towards the resolving any problems with Evergreens CPU upgrade chip product line.
• Designed, developed, and maintained internal applications designed to increase the proficiency and effectiveness of day-to-day work along with automating redundant tasks, in Assembly and C language.
• Reverse engineered submitted files to Virus Lab and then developed virus infection removal code for the Norton Antivirus Software.
• Trained groups of technicians in the skills of computer virus research.
