Registration Payroll System:
Team Size: 4
Implement user login module of the registration payroll system for the university. Started from the inception phase, delivered requirements model, domain model, design model and test plans specified by the use-case, using Rational Rose and Java.
Role:
• Designed, implemented, and integrated the GUI for UML modeling view of payroll registration system of the university using Java and Swing API.
• Used UML for developing various artifacts of the system.
• Develop system as prescribed by the XP process writing user stories and tests. All artifacts, test cases, stories, and code, were managed in CVS.
• Carried third iteration of registration payroll system.
Database Application:
This application was designed to provide information of all the computers and printers assigned to students, faculty and staff in the Department. Database is developed using Java, JDBC and Oracle. The application is designed to give access to authorized users with system status, resources, students and financial information.
Role:
• Designed the Business Logic.
• Developed the interface for the application using Java Swing.
• Used JavaScript to handle the user input on client side, which reduces traffic on network and server.
Project Information System
Team Size: 3
Project information was an intranet application for Human Resources Department. The application is designed to provide information on all the company products with enquiry, update and report transactions as part of the system. The application is designed to give access to authorized users with project status, resources, customer and financial information.
Role:
• Involved in Designing Business Logic.
• Developed the interface for the application using Java Swing.
• Used JavaScript to handle the user input on client side, which reduces traffic on network and server.
• Added a private messaging system to existing customer website using JSP and Oracle database through JDBC.
• Web-Service (XML): Developed an online information web-service for professors of the university to fetch student information. XML being the basic language, XML document was populated through database objects and parsed by JDOM, and XSLT transformed it into HTML file.
• Client-Server with XML-RPC: Implemented threaded server in Java where Clients made requests via socket connections and used XML-RPC as the textual protocol for specifying requests and responses to the server.
• JNDI: Developed a browser for the JNDI file service. Received relative or absolute path name as command line argument and allowed user to browse through file system which was displayed as a tree structure and contents of file displayed at right side of JPanel.
• JINI: Demonstrate the use of JINI and Java Spaces in the context of managing workflow Roles with multiple service suppliers.
• XML transformation: Project illustrates the transformation of an XML document into an HTML page. JDOM is used to populate and parse an XML document from database objects and XSLT transform it into HTML file.
• Socket Programming: Designed a mail (chatty) server with C as programming language and TCP/IP as protocol, where first Client registers to a Server and than Server multicast messages to the registered Clients.
• Software Development Cycle: Report on Software Development cycle, reliability and quality control and the risks involved in developing software.
• Networks: Presented a seminar on computer networks and web technologies.
