Some personal thoughts:
I admit I'm a geek! And a pretty good one. But I also have personality, and a life. Over the years I have come to appreciate what I've been blessed with. All of my most precious treasures have heartbeats and names.
Here are a few of my life principles (which, interestingly enough, also apply to software development):
- True Greatness is measured not by what we achieve but by what we overcome.
- Doing the right thing is rarely the easy thing, but there is no wrong time to do it. And the longer we tolerate the wrong thing, the harder it becomes to make things right.
- If you ignore your problems long enough, they'll change! :-)
