· Project Leader of a team of 5 developers working on Internet Web site. This consisted of managing application developers / developing release timelines / program specifications / security considerations / coordination of Unit/System/QA testing schedules to deliver applications in a very dynamic environment. This position consisted of 70% supervisory / administrative and 30% Application/Infra-structure development.
· Worked on a Team of 4 Senior Level Developers to develop the Hardware Configuration / Web Application Security / Application Architecture (3-Tier Infra-structure).
· Developed a 3-Tier infra-structure Database Application Server, using ‘C/C++’ and ProC, to be used by the Company wide Internet and Intranet systems for distributed processing across multiple servers. This infra-structure connects to any Scripting Language(Perl / TCL / etc…) or Compiled (C/C++) Application.
· Developed the first, of many, applications Company wide that made use of the new 3-Tier Infra-structure. This application consisted of ORACLE PL/SQL procedures, HTML, PERL5 , ProC and C++. This application used an Internet Browser as the front end GUI user interface with PERL5 as the CGI processing that would make calls to the 3-Tier infra-structure for access to the ORACLE Database.
· Developed a generic Email Based Browser HTML format and CGI PERL5 processing system. This system allows a template approach for rapid deployment of Email based HTML form applications.
· Research use of JAVA and JavaScript in HTML Browser’s for more control and design enhancement. Also, research use of JAVA as a development language for platform independence for the next generation of the 3-Tier infra-structure.
· Mentored several new and existing Developers in learning new languages and programming techniques
PROJECT LEADER / SENIOR ARCHITECT (Consultant) 07/19/02 – 04/30/03
· (Fortune 500 Company) has to port its entire data processing technology from VMS/MVS main frame technology to a UNIX based technology. My responsibilities included:
1. Create the Architecture Design of the UNIX based batch processing system.
2. Create the Architecture Design of the OLTP system that controlled the UNIX based batch processing system.
3. Evaluate the current Architecture for loading the client data warehouses and modify this architecture for optimal performance.
4. Train existing management staff in current software life cycle design methodologies and help define the methodology that (the client) would implement.
5. Train the management and development staffs in the new development paradigm of UNIX application development, 3gl languages, Oracle development, Web based OLTP systems.
6. Pick and implement a source code control methodology.
7. Serve as liaison to the Oracle DBA’s and the clients' Data Center located in Minneapolis MN.
8. Serve as the Development Project Leader when development started on the project.
9. All Oracle Design efforts including Data Model, Optimization, SQL Query Development.
10. Create a methodology for integrating DataStage ELT in a UNIX batch processing environment.
This project will require the ability to emulate the job control capabilities of the main frame system in UNIX. This data processing environment processes large amounts of customer data at periodic time intervals. The challenge of this project will be to design the system that can have the ability to process work 24/7 on a demand priority basis. The batch processing system integrated SAS applications, Data Stage ETL applications, Perl applications, SyncSort and other application written for processing data. The amount of data this system had to process was about 500gig per quarter. This system was implemented upon an HP SuperDome, quad processor 16 gig memory HPUX 11.x OS, that was connect to an EMC fiber channel raid system. The development technologies used on this project were Oracle 9i, Apache Web Server, JavaScript, Perl 5.6.1, HTML, XML, Page Kit Architecture (Model/View/Content/Controller), UNIX KSH script, Data Stage ETL, SAS, UNIX utilities (sed/awk/etc…),
PROJECT LEADER / SENIOR ARCHITECT (Consultant) 02/01/02 – 08/15/02
· Architecting a methodology for implementing a reporting system in Oracle that will allow for third party products like Crystal Reports, Actuate, and any programming language that can interface with Oracle to generate reports with Oracle packages and procedures performing all of the financial reporting. As the project leader, I have been responsible for the project plan time line, application development, and communication to the business units. This project is a migration of business logic and reports from C++ into Oracle PL/SQL packages and procedures. The reports are financial reports for the reporting of options given by corporations to employees and other individuals. I also had development responsibilities on this project. These applications have been written using Oracle 8i Enterprise and Crystal Reports 7.x,
SENIOR ARCHITECT 3/1/01 – 9/15/01
· Designed the application state server that was implemented for this project. Created a single cohesive team comprised of external consultants, independent contractors, and client employees. Lead application design meetings on functionality definition and implementation considerations. Provide guidance for significant technical roadblocks on the project. Helped with optimization of application code. This application was written in Visual Basic (COM+) using IIS 5.0 on Windows 2000 Operating system. ASP 3.0 with VBScript was used for the presentation layer to the HTTP server. JavaScript was used on the client browser. The database was SQL 2000 and the communication protocol used from the database was XML record sets. This development effort employed remote scripting, which is a JavaScript based methodology of communicating between a browser and HTTP server without refreshing the entire browser client. This development used Microsoft’s Object Development Model for the creation of the COM+ objects
