Wrote a magnetic stripe scanning system to
replace an antiquated barcode reading system used for recording
reservations and attendance of students at University of Florida
Athletic Association events.
Designed and developed a software license management
tool that tracked license keys and the serial numbers of the computers
they were installed on.
Designed and developed a database search engine
that uses a porter stemmer algorithm to derive the root of searched words
to return relevant results.
Designed and served as lead developer for an
online training application used by the Alachua County Supervisor of
Elections office and Alachua County Fire/Rescue Department to deliver
training courses to personnel.
Developed a spam blocking system using a custom
implementation of SpamAssassin, postfix and dbMail.

Work Terms

I generally prefer to communicate via E-mail for the sake of record keeping. Have also used backpackit and sharepoint as colaboration mediums for projects.
I accept payments through the guru.com service and through paypal. Sorry, no checks. I also prefer to receive a 1099 from business partners. Especially for ongoing projects.
I realize that I am not perfect and will correct any mistakes free for 30 days after a product has been delivered. Beyond that, my normal hourly rate will take effect. If I am called upon in the 30 day period to correct an issue that results from A) a condition that was not included in the original scope of the project or B) results from the manipulation of the deliverable or C) any condition outside of my reasonable realm of control (ie: third party hosting provider makes a system change causing my solution to break) will be billable at my hourly rate.
I generally prefer to work with customers to ensure that a solution I provide will truly solve a technical or business problem. I'm not in the business of slapping band-aids on problems.
