Extensive experience from the bottom up - client-side, server-side software, server administration - jms, database (mostly mssql 8-2005), web, DNS, NAS, SAN, VMWare, ... you name it.
Have done massive web service integration projects - literally millions of records total, with hundreds of thousands synced nightly.
Enjoy doing performance enhancements - adding additional threading, optimizing queries/db structure, memory leaks, improving logging, etc.

PS - I've worked in a good number of languages and don't have a problem switching between them. I'd really like to get into a large scale Ruby (with or without Rails) project because the small projects done so far have been enjoyable.
