I specialize in complex multi-threaded, real-time, software systems as well as custom data processing and report generation using Java and Excel.
For the past 5 years, I have worked as a Software Engineer for a company that has a highly sophisticated and complex automated stock trading system. The stock trading software uses mathematical algorithms to process electronic stock market data to make trade decisions and automatically place these trades. My role was to help implement the multi-threaded software to make these trade decisions. I was also in charge of the communication of data between our software and brokerage firms software that allowed us to make these trades. In addition, I was responsible for implementing many different types of in-house tools to analyze and monitor our stock trading system, as it was a very time-sensitive system that required constant attention. Finally, I was responsible for automatically generating many different types of Excel reports using custom Java code and an API called POI-HSSF. I had a wide range of responsibilities that were all very critical to the system.
