I pride myself on creating simple yet powerful user interfaces and designing flexible yet efficient backend systems. I have experience with many different types of environments from small businesses to major corporations and from simple applications to systems consisting of thousands of web pages.
My most recent experience is with ASP.NET 2.0 and VB.NET 2.0. I am just finishing up a major initiative at the current employer that has taken just over 2 years to complete. This website (www.gafri.com) is my companies public face to the internet. The system that I have designed and developed is for GAFRI's insurance agent force to access product information as well as commission and policy information. This system has a SQL server 2005 backend, uses a VB.net middle tier and ASP.net front-end. I was the sole person responsible for designing how the system should be designed from a technology standpoint.
Some other projects I have worked on include a data process application that uses VB.net threading to process a 85 meg flat file of data in under 60 seconds, and a change management website to handle all change control paperwork and user signoffs.

Work Terms

The only requirement that I have for work is that it does not interfere with my current full time position. I current work from 7am to 4pm, so anything outside of that timeframe would be fine. I would prefer to work from home and at my own pace. I have a knack for producing well written code very quickly; in every company I have worked for I produce code more than twice as fast as my counterparts. I can do this because I understand good system design and I do my best to NOT create redundant code.
Communication can be handled anyway that my customer prefers. I can use email, do phone calls, or in person meetings. I am willing to drive around 100 miles one way to meet with my employer as long as it's not on a very regular basis. Closer meetings can be more frequent if needed.
I would prefer payments to be half up front and half upon completion, but this is negotiable.
