Reduced Cyclone Central UI response time at DHL from over several minutes to less than 10 seconds.
Identified and tuned worst SQL reducing processing time for AMEX Name and Address matching application reports from eight hours to several minutes. Identified and eliminated key bottlenecks in Velocity ERP securing $2.6 million in venture capital for Advanced Foodsystems. Reduced Wells Fargo Cost Recovery batch processing from 6 hours to approximately 70 minutes for Oracle data warehousing web application. Reduced HDS McKesson PAP nightly batch processing from 12 hours to less than 90 minutes to comply with Bristol-Myers Squibb SLA (Service Level Agreement). Configured Oracle 9i NCOMP (Native Compilation) for benchmarking of mathematically intensive PL/SQL for JDA Software
Set undocumented SQL Server 1211 trace flag eliminating severe performance degradation and application hang occurring at customer site. Eliminated reoccurring outage in mission critical e-commerce application used to transact daily business between DHL and Hewlett Packard. Tuned, benchmarked, and documented Oracle 8.1.6 database web application for stress testing and certification of Cyclone Commerce's flagship e-commerce application at SUN iForce lab. Assisted in development and documentation of PL/SQL coding standards for APS, American Express, Cyclone Commerce, Wells Fargo, Advanced Foodsystems, and NTI. Refactored and normalized database schema serving as backend to EJB e-commerce software application dramatically improving performance and data integrity. Wrote custom load simulation package for parsing contents of Oracle trace file and generating PL/SQL packages as well as required IN/OUT parameters or bind variables.
Successfully refactored and tuned APS Oracle 8i data warehouse leveraging first SAN with IBM Shark Enterprise Storage.
Worked with Senior TOPLink Engineer in recommending critical performance enhancements including support for bind variables and SQL hints. Corrected chronic shared pool fragmentation by setting new Oracle 8i CURSOR_SHARING=FORCE parameter to eliminate excessive parsing caused by lack of support for bind variables by TOPLink persistence layer.
