For the last few years, my problem solving skills has improved as provide solutions to small companies as freelancer and working full-time for some. The expected turn around time is always very small, so I have to find avenue to deliver quality solutions to meet tight budget and time constraints. I am good at spotting development strategies that will be productive and stand the test of time. I d not limit myself to one programming language, employ sets of language that will allow me provide quality solutions with less development time, using limited budget. I am more productive working for small to mid size companies as the bureaucracy inherent with large companies are eliminated.
I have been involved in software automation projects for few clients including Agilent Technologies and currently Medstudy. At Agilent, I was part of team, which developed Software Test Automation. We have over 20 test computers running test automation on the famous Agilent Network Analyzer. Out Enterprise testing system keeps track of the entire test going on, logging status report into an SQL Server database and provides a web interface for any manager or test Engineer to view the test results for each Network Analyzer. The machines are controlled remotely via the web interface. This solution reduced the testing duration from few weeks to few days. Test engineers can configure or modify a test case on the fly and start the test on one or more Network analyzer. As part of my project, worked on automating the Build process for the Network Analyzer code. The entire process was reduced from a week’s job to just few ours.
The development environment spans Visual Test (for Mouse and Keyboard mimic), Visual C++ (for DLL development), ASP.NET, SQL Server, Stored procedures, Windows 98/2000/XP/2003 Server.
At MedStudy, I develop custom software solutions on ongoing bases. I developed an automated system that I worked which process orders places online or by the Customer Services representatives. The only user interaction with the system, is placing of an order and the system takes over to verify that the shipping address is valid, formats FPO/APO orders differently, builds an XML file to be transmitted to DHL for fulfillment, gets ship confirmation from DHL the following day and automates the process of fulfilling the Sales Order in NetSuite (CRM/Account system). For online orders, the system bills customer’s Credit Cards and if any Credit Card is declined, it sends an alert message via e-mail to the Account Department for further action. Every error or warning messages are logged to a Database viewable via web interface or standalone custom program. Troubling shooting, looking up records and customer transaction history are available. With a click of a button, employees get navigated to DHL website, where tracking information for specific Sales order is displayed.
The development environment span, VB.NET, Visual Test (for Mouse and Keyboard mimic), ASP.NET, C#, SQL Server, Stored procedures, Putty, Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP.
