My experience lies mainly in developing internal web based systems to help organizations manage their resources, improve communication among geographically dispersed staff members, and to provide the organization with automated reports and publications, among other tools, to improve their efficiency. I build systems from the ground up to fit the organization's operational needs. My development efforts have always included large, flexible, optimized and well-organized database systems that, along with the code itself, facilitate the growth and development of the software as the organization's needs change. I have also developed non-web Windows and Unix applications using C#, VB and Tk/Perl, as well as MS Office automation scripts using VBA. I have also provided layout design, logo design and other graphic design services in my development projects. I have eight years of experience designing normalized databases in SQL Server and MySQL. I have also had significant experience writing queries and algorithms to display complex reports. I have become an expert in user interface development using CSS, X/DHTML and Javascript, as well as AJAX and consider myself an excellent judge of user-friendliness. My two favorite roles involve designing applications (e.g. UML diagrams) and writing data transformations (ETL scripts) for legacy data.

Work Terms

At the moment I am really looking for quick projects since I do work a full-time job during business hours and I do not want to offer more than I can deliver. If there is more time available and no urgency then I am certainly interested in bigger projects, especially since that is where my experience lies. I like to communicate online by e-mail or chat and I typically respond to e-mails as soon as I get them, at least to acknowledge that I have read them.
