Eddie's One Minute
Description:
Built website and content management system for eddies1minute.com, an online multimedia webproject with one new video released every day for one year. The website was coded in PHP and the content management system used a combination of PHP and MySQL. The dynamic nature of the site enables daily updates with minimal work, using only a simple online entry form within a secure administration section to update the main website, an external dynamically generated RSS feed, an iTunes podcast, and an internal news feed. A custom-built comments engine (PHP based) was also integrated into the site to allow users to post comments on each video. This comments engine fully utilizes AJAX and client-side JavaScript to allow posting and viewing comments quickly and without any page loads. eddies1minute.com is an ongoing project with site features added and updates occurring regularly.
Current/ongoing modifications include: * Implement extensive SEO-related updates * Introduce more AJAX functionality * Move to a built-in video distribution system, instead of YouTube * Add more features to facilitate greater user interactivity
