Okay. So you want to know a little bit about us. By now hopefully you understand what we do, short of all the fancy words we're programmers (you have a need, you hire us, we create a solution for that need). But that isn't why you are on this page. You want to know what qualifies us to do the work for you. Am I right? Or maybe you are going to hire us anyway but are just the curious type. Or maybe you are here by accident and just like to read web pages. Either way let me tell you a little bit about who we are and answer some of those questions that you might have.
First, I think I would be remiss if I didn't tell you a little bit about how we got here. Some Geeks is the collaboration and partnership of two people, Chad and Eric.
We started as co-workers in a small technology department inside a very large company. We got there very different ways, but found we have the same goal - a passion for technology (we are truly geeks) and finding technology solutions for others. We quickly realized that we had the talent and drive to be successful with our own business. So we started talking and soon Some Geeks was formed. And that is how we got here. Now let me tell you a little bit about who you will be working with.
Chad has been a programmer since the day he was born, I think. I am pretty sure he dreams in Visual Basic or html. Chad has been a consultant for many years, hired by some of the biggest companies around (ask him which ones, he'll be happy to tell you). As a successful consultant Chad was sought after for permanent positions inside the companies he consulted for. After several years he decided to give corporate life a try, which landed him in the same department as me. It was fortunate for me because I've never known someone as versatile and capable as Chad. He has a unique gift for understanding a need and solving it, quickly and effectively. He has taught me a great deal. Honestly, I've never met a better programmer or better geek.
Eric's story is a little different. Eric was a programmer in training for many years. He spent most of his time in Operations departments of big corporations. Many days he could be found working on budgets, doing staff performance evaluations, and all that other corporate stuff required of their management staff. At every chance Eric had, however, he would find himself programming a new database or writing some code to help improve productivity. Eventually Eric realized what he wanted to do when he grew up and he was lucky enough to have the opportunity to move into a technology department. That is how he landed in the same department as Chad. Fortunately Eric found he has a talent for technology and has been lucky enough to learn from some very talented programmers. Being a geek is truly a passion for Eric.
So there you have it! Hopefully you've gained a little insight into the people behind Some Geeks. We are here to help you find solutions and can do it better and faster than the others. We promise.
